Downtown

Austin is well known for its nightlife and dining scene - if this is your vibe, don't miss one of these favorites!
Comedor - $$$$ - Fancy, Inner Mexico cuisine, worth a splurge. Indoor/outdoor dining concept
Lamberts BBQ - $$$ - A step up from your traditional BBQ joint. Don't be afraid to try the wild boar ribs!
El Alma - $$ - On the south side of downtown, great patio with even better cocktails. A favorite for many IFEA board members who have visited Austin!
Las Perlas Mezcaleria - $ - This tequila bar on 7th street offers the best selection in town. In the back, it connects with sister bar Seven Grand & their huge selection of whiskey & bourbon. Once you've stayed awhile, you may be interested in Asador, the taco truck which ties it all together on the patio.

The DOMAIN

The Domain is Austin's outdoor mall concept, but it's much more than your traditional mall. You'll find chain stores there, but also local restaurants, bars, outdoor music & green space. Don't be turned off by the word "mall" because it's much more than you'd expect!
Dirdie Birdie - $$ - Casual food, cocktails & indoor mini golf, with a course that takes you around the city's favorite landmarks. Great for people who want to do something besides "just dinner".
Loro - $/$$ - Tex-Mex Asian Fusion in an Indoor/Patio seating concept by well known chef Aaron Franklin, of Franklin's BBQ. Can't miss spot!
Kung Fu Saloon - $ - On the infamous "Rock Rose" avenue that runs along Domain Northside, this arcade bar is a great place to hit after dinner.
Velvet Taco - $ - Open really late, in case you stay at the Domain longer than you intended! Also on Rock Rose. Taco offerings are unique & delicious as well.

Closer to the Hotel

Brewtorium - $ - Locally owned and operated brewery and German inspired bites.
Hyde Park Bar & Grill - $$$ - This place is an OLD SCHOOL Austin institution, but definitely still worth a trip. The best choice if you're looking for something that feels home cooked. The fries (always get the fries as an appetizer for the table) are battered, then fried, making for a unique & irresistible texture. Their chicken fried chicken is the best in town. (We dare you to find a better one!) Plus, visiting the historic Hyde Park neighborhood is always a treat.
Lazarus - $ - Brewery offering gluten-friendly beers and TexMex staples. The Carne Asada and Al Pastor are both equally delicious. Best to take a ride share, as parking can be tricky.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar - $$ - Just as it sounds, Kura offers sushi that comes by on a conveyor belt, and you pick what looks tasty! Super fun for groups & those wanting to try new things!
Jewboy Burgers - $ - Often comes up as Austin's best burger on multiple online lists.
Stiles Switch BBQ - $ If you want delicious Austin barbecue, and don't want to wait in a long line, this is the spot for you. GREAT SIDES, which can make or break your meat experience. Get the corn casserole & literally anything that is on their specials that they haven't sold out of.
